Inspired by the Gospel and the teaching of the Catholic Church, Caritas Penang reaches out to the poor and marginalized, regardless of race or religion, to build a world based on justice and fraternal love. Caritas is love and charity.
In Caritas Penang, our works are rooted in prayers in order to spread love and care. We move base on the teaching of Jesus to hear the cries of the society and attend to the need of the people. These are the areas of humanitarian works that we are coordinating.
Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.
In Caritas Penang, we fulfil our mission by reaching out to men and women, children, youth and elders of all races and creeds, in particular the poor and marginalised; providing social services, saving lives, rebuilding and empowering communities, working for justice and integral human promotion.
A task that mobilises Church leaders at all levels, parish groups including the poor themselves, volunteers and professionals, in collaboration with other civil society actors, public institutions and international institutions.
Inter-deanery, inter-parish, inter-ministry, and networking amongst all the social mission arms of the diocese working together with one common mission and vision which is to bring the heartbeat of Jesus in every aspect of the works of charity we do.
