What is Caritas
Caritas is the charitable arm of the Roman Catholic Church. It is to spearhead the church’s social mission, to respond to humanitarian crisis, promote integral human development and advocate on the causes of poverty and violence.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we begin this holy season of Lent, let us take a moment to pause, create space in our hearts, and reflect on our shared journey of hope. Lent invites us to renew our spirit, refresh our outlook, and open ourselves to the transforming touch of Jesus, so we may walk as pilgrims of hope, bearing His love and compassion to those in need.
During this sacred time, we are called to embrace the pillars of Lent: fasting, almsgiving, and prayer. Through fasting, may we simplify our lives and deepen our dependence on God. Through almsgiving, may we share our blessings generously with the marginalized and poor, bringing hope to those in need. And through prayer, may we rediscover God’s presence and strengthen our relationship with Him.
I encourage you to engage with the inspiring stories and videos in the Lenten Kit thoughtfully prepared for you. May these resources rekindle hope within you and motivate you to extend care and support to others. Through your faith and actions, may you be a visible and radiant sign of God’s love and a beacon of hope to all you encounter.
As we journey together as pilgrims of hope, may this season of Lent be a time of rediscovering God’s truth, proclaiming His love, and nurturing enduring hope in the hearts of those around us. Let us walk this sacred path with humility and joy, keeping our eyes fixed on the promise of Easter’s dawn.
